Midnights in Medina

This past weekend I traveled to my girlfriend's house in Medina, Ohio. We didn't really plan anything out, it was just to hang, and honestly, I think that some of the most fun comes from not planning things out, because I had a blast!
I got to my girlfriend, Katelynn's house right after her shift at Master Pizza. I walked into her house, said hi to her family and headed up to her room to put my bags down. We were both so tired from our busy weeks that we passed out on her bed. We both woke up in the middle of the night and decided we were hungry, so we did the only logical thing, we went to Taco Bell. We got our food and ate in the parking lot while listening to music and talking. We eventually headed back to her house at about 5 a.m. and proceeded to pass out again.
The next day we got up around noon and made waffles, eggs and coffee. Right after we ate, Katelynn had to get ready and leave for work. Just my luck that every other person in her house was leaving at the same time, so I was left by myself for 5 hours. Luckily her family has a dog and a cat, so I wasn't completely alone. Plus, me being alone gave me time to get school work done, take a shower and take a nap. Eventually, Katelynn's dad and brother came home. I talked to them for a little bit before heading to Master Pizza to hang out with Katelynn while she closed. I actually had fun seeing the kitchen and watching her close. Master Pizza even had leftover dough that they were going to throw out so we got to make two pizzas for ourselves! We made one that had barbecue, chicken, bacon and onion on it, and the other one was their macaroni and cheese pizza. They were both so good, especially after doing school work for hours. After we made the pizzas, she finished closing and clocked out and we ate the pizzas in her car while jamming out to music. We then went back to her house, talked all night, then finally fell asleep.

Then Sunday morning rolled around, which didn't matter because we slept till noon. When we finally got up we made cinnamon rolls and coffee. Then we got ready and went to the South Park Mall. We just walked around and looked at the stores. We probably spent the most amount of time looking at the puppies that were for sale. Then, we got Chinese food before leaving the mall and heading to the Starbucks right across the street. We got a grande iced chai tea latte with brown sugar syrup. I didn't think I was going to like it, but it was actually really good. It kind of tasted like pumpkin spice. Once we got our Starbucks drink, we headed to the Medina Square where we got frozen yogurt at a place called Lemonberry and took pictures in a big gazebo in the middle of the square. It was then time for me to leave, so we traveled back to her house, I got packed up, said bye to everyone and headed back to campus.

  1. Hello Reese, it sounds like you had an awesome and laid-back weekend with your girlfriend. Sometimes the best memories come from just going with the flow. From Taco Bell runs to making pizzas at Master Pizza, everything seemed perfectly spontaneous. It’s these simple, little moments that make trips like this so special.
