College Chaos

    This weekend was much better than last weekend. If you read last week's blog, you know that my grandpa was in the hospital with a brain bleed over the weekend, and unfortunately passed Tuesday morning. Having a better weekend than that was not very hard. That being said, I did have an amazing weekend with my girlfriend and my sister.
    Of course, I started my weekend off working Friday evening. While I was at work, my parents dropped off my sister, Piper, with some of my friends, who hung out with her until I got off work. When 7:00 rolled around, I left work and went straight to the musical on campus, Hello Dolly. My friends and Piper were already there when I arrived. I got to catch up with my sister for a bit before seeing a fantastic production. I honestly forget sometimes how much talent we have on this campus. It was truly an amazing show. After the show, we all went back to my friend's dorm and hung out until my girlfriend, Katelynn, arrived. When she got to campus, my roommate, Piper, her and I went to the C-Store to get some snacks before heading to Mathile to watch Moana 2 in the biology lounge. After the movie, we all headed back to the dorm and passed out. 
    We got up around noon on Saturday and went to Taco Bell for lunch. We then came back to the dorms to get showered and ready for the day. When we were ready, we went to Lima Mall. We walked around and looked at stores, but of course didn't buy anything, because we're broke. We got some pictures at a mural outside the mall, then we were on our way back to the biology lounge to watch a much different movie this time. We watched a horror movie called Eli, which made the walk back to the dorms at 3 a.m. a lot more jumpy. When we got back, we watched a Netflix show called Love On The Spectrum. We finally went to bed a couple of hours after.



    On Sunday, we woke up around the same time, but this time we went to brunch in the dining hall. We then went back to the mall as Piper wanted to return to Sephora to buy the new Sol de Janeiro body spray. By then, it was time for Piper to go back home, so the four of us got McDonald's before meeting my dad to drop her off.
    Katelynn then stayed for another night because she didn't have class until late on Monday, which was great, as we didn't get a bunch of time to just spend with each other during the weekend. She left after my classes, and that marked the end of my weekend.

    Reese, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa :( Sending good thoughts your way. I'm glad this weekend you got to hang out with your girlfriend, roommate, and sister and had a better weekend. I haven't seen Moana 2 yet, but I've heard great things about it! Now that it's on Disney plus I might have to sit down and watch it.

    I had the best weekend visiting! It was so much fun and of course it was awesome visiting with your sister and friends. I’m looking forward to many more fun weekends ahead.

Where do I start? Winter break was a blast! Between hanging out with high school friends, the hectic holidays, and more family game nights than I can count on my hands, I barely had enough time to catch up on sleep. The 100 Year Woman

 Mary Louise (Reinhart) Davis She was born in Alvada, OH, on March 17, 1924, the fifth of eleven children. She married her husband, Charles Davis on April 19, 1945, and they were married for 68 years. Mary loved her family, going to garage sales, playing cards, going anywhere with her loved ones, and attending parties. She never wanted to miss any school activities or events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Gesu Catholic church for 73 years. On November 23, 2024, Mary passed away at the age of 100. You're probably wondering who this woman is and why she's in my post about the book, "Essentials of Social Media Marketing." Mary Davis is my great-grandma. Her being my grandma doesn't mean much to you, but I want you to think about how much the world has changed over those 100 years. Back In The Swing

     At this point, we are about two weeks into our second semester, and it has been a struggle. On my first day back, I had very simple goals: get through my classes and turn in my paperwork to begin working at Vancrest of Ada, a nursing home less than a mile from campus. I did, in fact, get through my classes, but I couldn't turn my paperwork in as, prior to leaving, I realized I had no idea where it was. I swore that I had put it in my backpack, but it wasn't there. My roommate and I searched the whole dorm and my car, and it was nowhere to be found. This might not seem like too big of an issue, but to work in a nursing home, there's a long list of requirements to check off. I needed a background check done, my fingerprints done, and a physical done at a location that is partnered with Vancrest.
