Medina Madness
My weekend was much more eventful than last weekend, solely because I got to see my girlfriend, Katelynn. It kicked off Friday night. After my shift at Vancrest, a shower and finishing some homework, I finally left the dorm around midnight, putting me at her house at 2:15 a.m. We were both tired as we both had work, so we talked for a couple of hours and then went to bed.
Saturday, we woke up around noon and had breakfast and coffee. We hung out and watched Instagram Reels for a couple hours before she had to go to work at Master Pizza. I went to work with her and did some homework in the dining room during her shift. When the end of her shift finally came around she cleaned up the kitchen, and then we used the extra dough to make ourselves a pizza. We made a pizza with garlic butter as the sauce and topped it with cheese, chicken and onions. After we finished making the pizza Katelynn closed the store and we sat in her car eating and listening to music. We then made our way to Sheetz where we got snacks for our movie night. I have been a big Lion King nerd ever since I was a kid and Katelynn hadn't seen Lion King 2 or the new Mufasa movie, so obviously we had to have a Lion King movie night. We watched both movies and were asleep soon after.
We woke up Sunday morning, again at noon, and our leftover pizza from the night before for breakfast. We then went shopping for both of our brother's birthday gifts as my brother's birthday had just occurred, March 29, and her brother's was upcoming, April 3. They both love Pokemon, so we went to a card shop about 45 minutes away from her house. I know that seems like a long drive but being people who love to talk and sing along to music, the drive there and back felt like nothing. When we got back to her house we played basketball with her brothers, Cameron and Carson. I then gave Carson the Pokemon cards that I got from the card shop for his birthday before we headed to a nearby park. The four of us hung out at the park for a while, then got food at Dairy Queen. It was then that we began getting severe storm and tornado warnings for Medina and multiple cities I would have to drive through to get back to campus. Not wanting to drive through that, I decided to skip my first two Monday classes and drive back Monday morning.
Update, I survived!
Sounds like you had a busy, but good weekend with your girlfriend! It can be difficult being in a relationship where your partner is not local. Also, doom-scrolling reels on Instagram is so real!
