Medina Madness Part Two
I had such a fun weekend! After work on Friday, I drove to Medina to visit my girlfriend, Katelynn. I got there at around 10 p.m. and her two brothers wanted to go to Sheetz, which, if you don't know, is like a gas station mixed with a fast food restaurant. So, Katelynn drove the four of us, and we got food. I got a sampler where I got to pick three different appetizers in one box. I picked boneless wings, mac and cheese bites and mozzarella sticks. We all came back to the house and ate, and it was so good. Well, really good for it technically being gas station food. After that, Katelynn and I talked and hung out for a few hours before falling asleep.
We got up around noon on Saturday and made waffles and coffee. We talked and ate breakfast until she had to get ready for work. When she left, I got a shower and got ready for the day before heading out to check a few stores for Pokémon cards, and, of course, no one had anything. So I then went to Master Pizza, which is where Katelynn works, and did some homework in the dining room. I was accompanied by a friend of Katelynn's that I have become friends with too, as she also goes to ONU, and is the one who introduced Katelynn to me. Having Alyssa and her dog, whom she trains through Polar Paws, there to hang out with made the time fly by. When it got to the end of Katelynn's shift, everyone had left as she was closing the store, so we used the extra pizza dough to make a pizza for ourselves. We made barbeque chicken pizza with onions, and took it back to her house, where we ate it while watching The Lion King 2. This might seem like an odd movie to watch, but as a kid, I was obsessed with The Lion King. I would quite literally watch it on repeat every day. This being said, I've seen all of the Lion King movies, but it turns out that not all kids were as obsessed as I was as a kid, so Katelynn had never seen The Lion King 2. Therefore, we had to watch it! She said it was a cute movie, and she liked it, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that these movies grow on her, because if I'm being completely honest, I still love the movies. When we finished the movie and our pizza, we went to bed.
On Sunday, we woke up again around noon, but this time, Katelynn didn't have work, so she decided she wanted to take me to this outdoor shopping mall called Crocker Park. We took pictures and walked through so many different stores like Nike, H&M, Books-A-Million and Sephora. Of course, we didn't buy anything, though, because we're broke college students. After looking around for a while, we decided to go to Auntie Anne's. When I ordered, though, the lady said that they were out of everything but the lemonades. Now I don't know how a pretzel place runs out of pretzels, but I said okay and got a mango lemonade instead. We sat at a fountain and drank the lemonade, which was very sweet but very good, then headed back to her house. We got McDonald's with her family, then Katelynn, her brothers and I all went to Dairy Queen for ice cream. When we got back, we thought it would be a good idea to jump on the trampoline. Let me tell you, McDonald's, Dairy Queen, and physical activity is not a good combo. After a quick bathroom break, it was unfortunately time for me to go. So, I packed up, said goodbye to her and her family and hit the road.
That wraps up my last Medina trip blog for this semester! Thanks for listening to my rambling!
That sounds like the best time! I will be honest that I wasn't obsessed with Lion King as a kid, but I watched the movies when I did the musical in elementary school. I will say I haven't seen the second Lion King movie yet though. I'm so glad you had a great trip to Medina to wrap up the semester!
ReplyDeleteWow, it sounds like you had such an amazing weekend! I really enjoyed reading about all the little moments, from the Sheetz snack run (those mac and cheese bites are underrated!) to the cozy movie night with The Lion King 2. Also, I totally get the nostalgia for The Lion King. I was the same way as a kid! Sounds like you two have such a fun, easygoing vibe together.
